Newport Performing Arts Festival
LEARN . EXPERIENCE . PERFORM

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our founder, Linda Knighten. She died on Wednesday, January 29 in the morning in her home in Newport, Oregon, surrounded by her family.
There are no words to express the impact this one person has made on all our lives. She is a bright light and her vision for this festival has already changed the trajectory for so many performing artists. She is loved and her memory is a blessing.
Linda died on the New Moon, the Lunar New Year. She made a stellar exit and she now sits in the heavens, cheering on all of us.
Thank you, Linda.
