My Story
Jacqueline De Muro is a fixture in the San Francisco Bay Area music, theatre and cabaret scene as a singer, actor, and songwriter.
Jacqueline’s cabaret credits include guest artist features in shows by Franc D’Ambrosio (Christmas Show), Katya Smirnoff Skyy, and Jason Graae (Perfect Hermany), as well as her solo shows: Under the Influence - Songs and Stories that Influenced my songwriting, Mothers Nun’s and Whores - Mezzo-soprano roles, Jubilee! - 50 and counting, Tell Me A Story, and Songs of Self-Indulgence. In cabarets and concerts, Jacqueline’s performed in both intimate and palatial venues, including Feinstein’s’ at the Nikko (San Francisco), Silo’s (Napa), Hotel Rex (San Francisco), Hotel De Anza (San Jose), Martuni’s (San Francisco), Lesher Center (Walnut Creek), Club Deluxe (San Francisco), Flint Center (Cupertino), Octavia Lounge (San Francisco), and the Capuchino Theatre (San Bruno). She has studied voice with Milton Williams and Julie Valentine, performance with Shari Carlson and Stephanie Lynne Smith, and gained wonderful insight from Wesla Whitfield in a cabaret masterclass.
In musical theatre, she recently played Lita Encore in Ruthless! at the New Conservatory Theatre Center. Some of her favorite past roles include Lady Thiang (King & I), Madame Liang (Flower Drum Song), Charlotte (A Little Night Music), Aldonza (Man of La Mancha), Genevieve (The Baker's Wife), Lalume (Kismet), Alaura/Carla (City of Angels), Pam (Baby), Marta (Kiss of the Spiderwoman), Shogun’s Mother (Pacific Overtures), Muzzy (Thoroughly Modern Millie), and of course, Bloody Mary (South Pacific), for which she won a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle award.
Upcoming projects include Side by Side by Sondheim (October 2024, Stevens Point, WI), Under the Influence Cabaret (October 2024, Stevens Point, WI), Anastasia (December 2024, Foster City, CA), and Happy Pleasant Valley, a Senior Sex Scandal Murder Mystery Musical (March 2024, Palo Alto, CA and June 2024, Walnut Creek, CA).
Jacqueline is currently working on completing arrangements for a songbook of 14 of her original compositions, targeted for late 2025.
Jacqueline has developed the workshop "Putting it Together - How to Create Your Own Cabaret Show" based on her personal experience and training, as well as interviews with local cabaret professionals, including Russell Deason, J. Conrad Frank, Lauren Mayer, Meg McKay, Tom Reardon, and Joe Wicht.
